The Galaxy Z Flip 7 with its massive cover screen and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with its svelte design have impressed a lot of people, including us, and that is reflecting in their pre-order performance. After India, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 have broken pre-order records in one more country.
Samsung has received over 1.04 million pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in South Korea. This figure is slightly higher than 1.02 million pre-orders the company received for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in its home country. It is also a major uptick compared to 0.91 million pre-orders it received last year for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

It shows that people are willing to spend money on foldable phones if Samsung can bring enough improvements. The company said 60% of all the pre-orders it received for its new foldables are for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which costs a whopping KRW 2,379,300 (~$1,714) in South Korea. This is the first time a Galaxy Z Fold model has outsold a Galaxy Z Flip model, which is impressive.
The pre-order period for the new phones will end in South Korea on July 28, and the phones will reach store shelves on July 29.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the world's lightest book-style foldable phone. Preliminary tests have shown that it might also be the world's slimmest book-style foldable phone, and it marks Samsung's impressive return after coasting with minimal upgrades for the past couple of years. You can look at the phone and its upgrades in our video below.
Its bigger foldable screen can be folded at least up to 500,000 times without malfunctioning, and that is 2.5x compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6's screen. Samsung used a thicker UTG panel, a titanium backplate, a new hinge, and a more elastic adhesive to make the screen more durable.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 4.1-inch edge-to-edge cover screen that encompasses its dual-camera setup. The larger display is not only brighter (2,600 nits peak) but also smoother (120Hz). The phone also features a faster processor, the Exynos 2500, and a bigger battery (4,300mAh).
Samsung's new phones run One UI 8.0 (Android 16) out of the box and will get seven generations of Android OS updates. They will also get security updates for up to seven years. The new foldable phones have several Galaxy AI features, including Now Brief, Photo Assist, Browsing Assist, Audio Eraser, Call Assist, Writing Assist, Note Assist, and Interpreter.
