Samsung released the first One UI 8 Watch beta update this week. It brings a vertical app drawer, new design for Tiles, some new watch faces, and improved health features. Since the software is based on Wear OS 6, the update will pave the way for improved Google apps like Gmail and Google Keep.
Those apps will bring the Material 3 Expressive design.
Google is preparing for the release of the Wear OS 6 update. To match the update's new UI design, it is updating the design of its own apps, including Gmail and Keep. Android Authority reports that some users have started getting the Material 3 Expressive design in the Gmail app on Wear OS devices.
Buttons are now wider, use more colors, and dynamically match the entire width of the screen while scrolling. There are other subtle design improvements as well. You can watch the new design in the screenshots below.

Android Authority also discovered the new design of Google Keep in version 5.25.232.01 of the app for Wear OS-based devices. The button to add new notes is bigger, and images attached to a note now show up as a carousel rather than appearing as a note's background.

Add Reminder, Archive, and Pin buttons now appear in a horizontal line rather than being laid out vertically. When you tap those options, the buttons get wider to display an expanding motion. When all the items in a to-do list are checked, it displays an expressive ‘All Done' animation.
This new design for Gmail and Google Keep could be released soon to Galaxy Watches with the One UI 8 Watch update.
