As promised earlier, Samsung opened the One UI 8 Watch Beta Program today. And the beta update has been released for the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, the update is currently available only in South Korea and could be released soon in the USA.
Samsung has released the first One UI 8 Watch beta update for the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra in South Korea and the USA. It brings a new UI design and at least four new health features to the Galaxy Watches. You can read more about those features here. In the USA, the update is only available for Bluetooth-only models and LTE units on T-Mobile's network.
As you can see in the screenshot below, the first beta version of One UI 8 Watch has a download size of over 1.9GB, which is huge considering it is a smartwatch update. The update can only be downloaded via a Wi-Fi network, and you have to install the latest versions of Samsung Members, Galaxy Wearable, and Watch Manager apps from the Galaxy Store on your connected phone.

For the Galaxy Watch 7, the new beta update comes with firmware version L305NKOU1ZYFE. For the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the update has arrived with firmware version L705NKOU1ZYFE. However, note that these firmware versions are only for the South Korean market. Firmware versions for Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra units sold in the USA will be different.
If you want to beta-test One UI 8 Watch on your Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch Ultra, install the latest version of the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy phone and sign into it using the same Samsung Account that is used in your Galaxy Watch. Then, tap the One UI 8 Watch Beta Program banner on Samsung Members app's home page and enroll your device into the program. Once the registration is done, head over to the Galaxy Wearable app and check for a new update.
Once the update is downloaded, tap the Install now button. The installation process will then start and your Galaxy Watch will restart after a few minutes. When you find bugs or performance issues in the beta software, make sure to offer details about it through the feedback section of the Samsung Members app.
