Earlier this month, Samsung released an update to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic that offered the much-awaited One UI 8 Watch (Wear OS 6). While it brought many visual and functional upgrades, giving the wearable a fresh breath of life, it seems to be breaking the smartwatches, and the brand may have paused the rollout.
On the Samsung Community forum for India, a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic user claims that after they updated the wearable to One UI 8 Watch, the device’s multiple sensors stopped working. They have also uploaded a screenshot of Samsung’s diagnostics tool, which shows that its wrist detection, BIA, and ECG sensors failed.

According to the user, formatting the smartwatch and clearing the cache didn’t solve the issue. However, placing the dial on the palm side of the wrist makes the sensors work. So, there’s no confirmation if it's a software issue or a hardware one.
On the post, a few users have commented saying that they haven’t received the One UI 8 Watch update on their Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which suggests that Samsung may have paused the rollout of the new software as it may have issues.
