Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. It is the company's newest mid-range tablet that sits one step below the Galaxy Tab S10 FE but brings most of the necessary features at a more affordable price. Its software update policy is quite impressive, and has managed to surprise us.

How many Android OS updates will Galaxy Tab S10 Lite get?

The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite comes with Android 15 and One UI 7.0 onboard. While most mid-range Galaxy tablets get four major Android OS updates, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite comes with a promise of seven major Android OS updates. That means it will run Android 22 by the time Samsung stops supporting the tablet sometime in 2031.

In the European Union (EU) region, it is priced at €399 for the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. This makes the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite the cheapest Galaxy device to get seven Android OS updates. The previous most affordable Galaxy device to come with a promise of seven major Android OS updates was the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, which had a launch price tag of €499.

It is impressive to see that Samsung is promising seven years of software update support for such an affordable device. Hopefully, this will push other brands to offer similarly long software update support for their tablets.

If you want a decent Android tablet for day-to-day use, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite should be a great choice as it comes with a large screen, a bundled S Pen, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity (in cellular models), a metal body, a microSD card slot, and an extremely long software update support period.
