Samsung's next Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S25 FE, was expected to go official later this month. However, that information may have been just a guess, as a new report claims to reveal the exact launch date of the smartphone. It is coming next month.
A report from FNNews claims that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S25 FE on September 19. It also claims that the phone will carry a price tag of less than KRW 1 million (~$720). While the exact price wasn't revealed, the report claims that it will most likely be similar to the Galaxy S24 FE or slightly higher for the 256GB version.
The Galaxy S25 FE features the Exynos 2400 chip that was used in the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+. It will have 8GB RAM, 4,900mAh battery, and 45W fast charging. It will have a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with up to 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung reportedly isn't bringing any improvement to its rear-facing camera hardware. So, the Galaxy S25 FE is said to feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. On the front, though, the phone comes with a 12MP selfie camera, an upgrade over the Galaxy S24 FE's 10MP front-facing camera.
The upcoming Fan Edition phone is said to weigh 190g, which makes it lighter than the Galaxy S24 FE (213g). It will likely have GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C port, stereo speakers, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It will run One UI 8.0 out of the box.
Since the demand for smartphones is likely to be sluggish in the USA due to possible additional tarrifs on phones made outside of the country, Samsung is trying to increase revenue by launching additional devices like the Galaxy TriFold, XR headset (Project Moohan), and the Galaxy Tab S11 series.
