With the rumored One UI 8.5 beta program start date fast approaching, Samsung appears to be ramping up internal testing for the new firmware across multiple devices. Today, the first One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy S24 series has surfaced on the company’s servers.

As usual, Samsung is prioritizing the Ultra model for initial testing, and unsurprisingly, it's the Galaxy S24 Ultra's firmware that has been spotted online. It’s also highly likely that this build will leak, just as test firmware for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Z Fold 7 have been, and we’ll be sure to test it on our devices if that happens.

The changelog for the upcoming One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy S25 series leaked earlier this week, and we can expect most of those changes to apply to the Galaxy S24 lineup as well. However, whether Samsung will include the S24 series in the One UI 8.5 beta program remains to be seen, as these mid-cycle One UI updates don’t have a consistent history of traditional beta programs that we can reference.

That said, since One UI 8.5 will debut on the Galaxy S26 lineup rather than on a new Galaxy Z Fold or Flip, there’s a good chance that multiple Galaxy S lineups will be included in the beta program. For now, it’s simply a matter of waiting to see what Samsung has planned. Rest assured that we’ll share any new information as soon as it becomes available, so stay tuned.
