Earlier this month, Samsung announced that it will open Android 16-based One UI 8.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 duo between 11 August 2025 and 17 August 2025, and for older Galaxy A, Galaxy S, and Galaxy Z series devices in September.

As scheduled, the brand released the beta version of One UI 8 to the six devices last week, and now, the first signs that the South Korean tech giant is working on rolling out the beta version of One UI 8 to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra have surfaced online. Let’s take a look.

Tarun Vats has spotted the first beta version of Android 16-based One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra on Samsung’s server. As you can see in the screenshot below, it carries firmware version S918BXXU8ZYH7. The latest development suggests that the brand has started testing the software internally, a step before the company rolls it out to the public.

Even though One UI 8 isn’t as big of an upgrade as One UI 7, it brings many changes, including subtle design changes to Quick Panel, revamped Quick Share, upgrades to Galaxy AI’s Audio Eraser, Browsing Assist, Generative Edit, and Now Brief, and inclusion of many new features, such as Call Captions and Real Time Text.
