This week starts on a good note for all Galaxy A73 users, as the phone has started getting the One UI 8.0 update. It brings several new and improved features to the smartphone. One UI 8 is the last major software update for this 3.5-year-old mid-range smartphone.
The Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update is now rolling out to the Galaxy A73 in several Asian countries. The new software comes bearing firmware version A736BXXUAGYJ1 and includes the September 2025 security patch. It has a download size of over 2.5GB, so it is better to download it via a Wi-Fi network.

The update is available in India, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. It could be released in other countries soon.
If you are a Galaxy A73 user living in any of the countries mentioned above, you should check for the One UI 8.0 update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap the Install now button. Your phone will then restart after a few minutes.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A73 in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. Later that year, the company released the Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update to the phone. In late 2023, it brought Android 14 (One UI 6.0) to the device, and earlier this year, it released the Android 15 (One UI 7.0) update.
The One UI 8.0 update is the last major software update for the phone. It won't receive OS updates going forward. However, the phone will continue to get security updates and bug fixes. If you want to upgrade to a newer device, check out the Galaxy S24 FE or the Galaxy S25 FE, as they offerin all round improvements compared to the Galaxy A73.
