Now that Samsung's high-end phones eligible to get the One UI 7 update have started getting it in at least one region, the company has turned its attention to mid-range devices. The South Korean firm has released the stable One UI 7.0 update for a version of Galaxy A55 that was launched only in Korea: Galaxy Quantum 5.
Samsung has released the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy Quantum 5 in South Korea. The phone is based on the Galaxy A55 and was launched last year on SK Telecom's network. The new update bears firmware version A556SKSU4BYD9 and likely includes the April 2025 security patch. It is the phone's first big software update since its launch last year.
By any chance, if you are some of those people who live in South Korea and bought a Galaxy Quantum 5, you can now check for the new update on your device. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

The Galaxy Quantum 5 has the same design and hardware specifications as the Galaxy A55. However, it features an additional security chip called the S2Q000. It is a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip designed by SK Telecom and works with Samsung Knox to bring additional security to critical apps like banking.
