In December 2025, Samsung launched its latest flagship chipset for mobile devices, the Exynos 2600. The brand is expected to use it for its next lineup of non-foldable flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S26 series. So far, there have been many reports on its performance, showing that the SoC blows trades with its main rival, which is Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC for mobile devices, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
The latter is also a processor that the South Korean tech giant may use for the Galaxy S26 phones in a few regions around the world. Well, today we have one more report on their performance. It shows that the Exynos 2600’s GPU, the Xclipse 960, is faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s GPU, the Adreno 840, in one of the graphics processing aspects, which is ray-tracing.
In GPU Score In Vitro 1.0’s Mobile Raytracing test, which evaluates a GPU’s raytracing performance, the Exynos 2600’s Xclipse 960 GPU scored 8,321 points, topping the chart. In other words, it's the world's most powerful and fastest GPU for mobile devices when it comes to raytracing performance.

In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s Adreno 840 GPU scored 7,649 points, and the MediaTek Dimensity 9500's Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU scored 7,075 points. That means the chipset from Samsung is 8.8% and 17.6% faster than those from Qualcomm and MediaTek, respectively.
The Exynos 2600’s Xclipse 960 is the world's first GPU to use AMD’s RDNA 4 technology. If we go by the latest benchmark, it looks like RDNA 4 is very capable, and Samsung made the right choice by developing its own GPU with AMD rather than choosing ARM's Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU.
