Given Samsung's focus on slimming down devices this year, and the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, one might have hoped that this would result in the Galaxy S26 series being slimmer overall.

That may not be the case for the base Galaxy S26. A new leak has provided updated dimensions of what may be the final prototype of Samsung's most attainable flagship phone.

Jury's still out on a slimmer Galaxy S26

AndroidHeadlines has reported the updated dimensions of what the scribe believes might be the final prototype of the Galaxy S26 before the device heads to mass production in the near future.

According to the report, the Galaxy S26 measures 149.5 x 71.6 x 7.24mm. If these dimensions are indeed accurate, this would place the thickness at par with the Galaxy S25, which measures 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2mm.

There are marginal differences in the height and width as well but not even to be really noticeable. The takeaway here appears to be that Samsung hasn't slimmed down the Galaxy S26 and it may actually have a nominally thicker camera bump when compared to its predecessor.

The latest information contradicts an earlier report from last week which claimed that the Galaxy S26 measures 6.9mm, despite including an integrated magnetic setup for true Qi2 wireless charging support.

If this report is to be believed, that may have been an earlier prototype of the device, and Samsung has now adjusted the dimensions as it finalizes the device ahead of mass production.

Samsung hasn't confirmed when it intends to launch the device, though reports have claimed that it may be launched in late January with the devices hitting shelves in early February 2026.
