Earlier today, we reported that Samsung is bringing Now Bar to Galaxy Watches with the next big software update. Now, months ahead of release, some more interesting One UI 8 Watch features have leaked. They include battery health protection features and the ability to shuffle the watch faces daily.
Just like its smartphones and tablets, Samsung is planning to bring more battery health protection features to its smartwatches. With the One UI 8 Watch update, the company will bring the ability to stop charging when the battery level reaches a certain percentage.
It limits battery degradation and helps extend its lifespan. This feature was spotted in the code of One UI 8 Watch's Battery app (version 4.0.00.8) by AndroidAuthority.
The publication also unearthed an interesting feature that keeps your Galaxy Watch looking fresh by shuffling between watch faces. You can select a few of your favorite watch faces, and the smartwatch will switch between one of those watch faces every day. This feature was found in code strings related to the SecClockWorkSysUI package (version 4.0.57).
You need to select at least two watch faces for this feature to work. This is certainly a nice customization feature, especially if you get bored with the same watch face after using it for a few days.
One UI 8 Watch is likely based on Google's Wear OS 6 software version. It will reportedly bring Gemini to replace Google Assistant that is currently available on Galaxy Watches running Wear OS. The upcoming version of One UI Watch could also bring new sound effects and Antioxidant Index to Samsung Health.
