Eight months after launch, the Galaxy S25 series started receiving its first of seven major OS upgrades today. Following a couple of months of beta testing, the official One UI 8 (Android 16) update is rolling out to Samsung's latest flagship Galaxy S lineup.
At the time of writing, it's not known if the update is out for the Edge model as well or just the original three models. It may take a few extra days for the Galaxy S25 Edge to join the One UI 8 party, but it should be running the new software before the end of the month.
The rollout of the update has started in South Korea, and it comes with firmware version S93xNKSU5BY13 (555.45MB download for the Galaxy S25 Ultra). The update is currently available only for those who participated in the One UI 8 Beta Program, but it could be released to everyone later today.
