Last month, Samsung updated the Camera Assistant app for Galaxy smartphones with a feature called ‘3D Capture.’ It was meant for taking spatial photos and videos that you can experience in 3D in the Galaxy XR headset.

However, back then, the brand had not launched the Galaxy XR. That is most likely why it rolled out another update to the app, which removed the 3D Capture feature, suggesting that it had offered the feature by mistake.

On Tuesday, Samsung finally launched the Galaxy XR headset. With that, the brand is now rolling out a new update to the Camera Assistant app, which brings back the 3D Capture feature. According to the change log, the feature is available on the Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Fold 7. The latest update carries version 4.0.00.6.

To update Camera Assistant, go to the Galaxy Store, tap on the hamburger menu icon at the top-left corner of the screen, select Updates, and tap on the Update all button or the update icon beside the app listing. Since the Galaxy XR is available only in Korea and the US, Camera Assistant may offer 3D Capture in only these two regions.
