Samsung Blade S5600 disassembly

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.
  • Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the six screws you can see, circled below.
s56001.jpg

  • Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.
s56002.jpg

  • With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. Remove the two screws, circled in red. A ribbon connector, circled below in blue, needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug. Next, the micro-switches for the volume, camera and phone lock buttons need to be released from the side of the phone. They're stuck to the side of the phone with double sided tape and will peel away quite easily. Please note they will still be attached to the phone's circuit board so take care not to damage those connections.
s56003.jpg

  • You can now lift the metal plate away from the phone, as shown below. Another ribbon connector, circled in blue, needs to be detached. Again, this attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug. A second ribbon, circled in red also needs to be detached. This connects in a slightly different way to previous ribbons. Look at the socket where the ribbon enters and you'll see a black latch. Flick this up and the ribbon will be loose and can be pulled away from the socket. The ringer, circled in white, is stuck down with double sided tape. This needs to be levered up until it releases. Note that it will still be connected to the circuit board by a wire. Make sure you don't damage this wire. A couple of clips at the bottom of the phone hold the circuit board and front cover together. Pry the front cover away front the circuit board at the point indicated by the arrow and this should release the circuit board.
s56004.jpg

  • Lift the circuit board away from the front cover but note that it will still be attached at the other end so it cannot be removed completely just yet.
s56005.jpg

  • Below you can see the underside of the circuit board. Two clips, circled in white, need to be released. Just push them up with your screwdriver.
s56006.jpg

  • The circuit board should now be free.
s56007.jpg

  • Slide your plastic tool under the metal plate in order to release it.
s56008.jpg

  • With the metal plate released your phone should look like below.
s56009.jpg

  • Now carefully slide your plastic tool under the very edge of the LCD screen. Go all the way round the edge of the screen and it will release. It's held in place lightly by a sticky gasket.
s560010.jpg

  • You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Samsung C3050 disassembly

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.
  • Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws need to be removed, circled below.
c30501.jpg

  • Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.
c30502.jpg

  • With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. A ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug.
c30503.jpg

  • Pull the circuit board away from the phone. It will still be attached by a ribbon, circled below. Again, it attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this away from the circuit board to unplug.
c30504.jpg

  • With the circuit board removed, your phone should look like below. Next remove the four circled screws. You can then lift away the part held in place by the screws.
c30505.jpg

  • Your phone should now look like below. Now remove the two circled screws.
c30506.jpg

  • Move the slide up and remove the two screws you can see.
c30507.jpg

  • Next wedge something like a credit card under the metal part at the point shown below. Do the same on the other side. You should feel the part release slightly.
c30508.jpg

  • Now, starting near the top of the phone, run your credit card along the join of the front cover in order to separate the phone into two.
c30509.jpg

  • Your phone should now look like below. Circled is a ribbon connector. This connects in a slightly different way to previous ribbons. Just flick the brown latch up and pull the ribbon away from the circuit board. It'll simply slide out.
c305010.jpg

  • Below you see the ribbon disconnected at one end. The other end, with the camera, speaker and ringer attached is held in place lightly with double sided tape. Just lever these parts away from the phone.
c305011.jpg

  • With the ribbon removed your phone should look like below. Now disconnect the other ribbon you can see in exactly the same way as the last.
c305012.jpg

  • Your phone should now look like below. Carefully lever the screen out around its edges. It's held in place lightly with double sided tape.

Samsung D900i disassembly

Tools required: Phillips size 0 screwdriver
  • First remove the battery cover and battery. Remove the two rubber stoppers at the bottom of the phone (circled) and you now have access to six screws in total. Remove these screws.

  • You can now remove back part of the phone. It should come away from the phone with little force.

  • You should now have the back part removed, like below.
d9003.jpg

  • Now remove the two side buttons and make sure the port covers on the side of the phone are open. A ribbon connector (circled) also needs to be released. It attaches like a plug and socket so simply lift it away from the phone to unplug it (it is shown already unplugged in the photo below).
d9004.jpg

  • Lift the green circuit board from to bottom to reveal another ribbon (pointed to in the photo below). Again, this attaches like a plug and socket. Simply pull the connector away from the circuit board to unplug it
d9005.jpg

  • Once you've disconnected the ribbon in the stage above you can remove the circuit board and your phone should now look like the picture below.
d9006.jpg

  • Now open the slide. Remove the two rubber stoppers at the top of the phone and you'll have access to two more screws. Remove these and the two screws you can access in the battery compartment (all circled).
d9007.jpg

  • You can now remove the front cover. It will still be attached by a ribbon, so be careful.
d9008.jpg

  • Flip the front cover over so you can access the next ribbon.
d9009.jpg

  • To detach this ribbon, first remove the green tape, then flip back the brown hinge, which is indicated below. The ribbon then simply slides out. Take note of how this ribbon is attached as it will help you when you put the phone back together.
d90010.jpg

  • The image below shows the ribbon now detached.

  • Your phone should now be in two parts, as shown below.
d90012.jpg

  • The next ribbon, indicated by the arrow, is covered by some green tape. Remove this. This ribbon attaches like the previous one, so flip the hinge and slide the ribbon out.
d90013.jpg

  • The image below shows the ribbon once it has been detached.
d90014.jpg

  • Lift the LCD away from the front cover, starting at the bottom. The LCD is held in place quite firmly with double sided tape so you need to peel it away slowly but with force.
d90015.jpg

  • You should now have removed the old LCD screen. Replace with new and reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
